tuning the guitar

A standard tuning lesson ,

  • remember to tune the string up to the right note .
  • anyone can use a tuner ,but I think it's best if you can tune one string from an outside sourfce (tuner ,whisle etc') and tune the rest by ear ,this will give you a good ear training and a better feel for the guitar.

There are quite a few other types of tunings like "Drop D" ,"open G"

which will be shown on other posts.

Don't own a tuner yet ?
Use one or both of these tools :

1 An online tuner
http://www.8notes.com/guitar_tuner/
2.A shareware tuner to install on your computer ,all you need is a microphone ...
try it out
http://www.aptuner.com/cgi-bin/aptuner/apmain.html
Machine requirements for running AP Tuner:
Pentium compatible CPU, 200 MHz or greater
Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP
32 megabytes RAM
2 megabytes of available disk space for installation
Sound card
Microphone (or adapter if connecting directly to electric instrument)
